Endowed Chair in Behavioral Finance
The Department of Finance at the Miami Business School (MBS) invites applications for a new Endowed Chair in Behavioral Finance. We are interested in a senior scholar who is a thought leader in behavioral finance (broadly defined), has a distinguished publication record, an active research agenda, and a strong academic reputation. The appointment is at the Associate or Full Professor level. The compensation package is competitive, and commensurate with the candidate's experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will actively engage in i) innovative and impactful research and publish in top tier academic journals, ii) teaching and Ph.D. student supervision, and iii) service related to the MBS/Department as well as the academic finance profession. The candidate will provide leadership to the Department's research programs, with emphasis on collaboration with, and mentoring of, junior faculty and Ph.D. students. The successful candidate will also strengthen the MBS's relations with professional associations and the finance and wealth management communities, including participating in presentations, fundraising, and networking.
STRATEGIC RESEARCH INITIATIVE: President Julio Frenk and Dean John A. Quelch are strongly committed to strengthening the University of Miami's and the MBS's growing leadership in the field of behavioral finance. In 2016, the "100 Talents for 100 Years" initiative was launched to endow 100 research chairs by the centennial of the University of Miami, in order to further enhance the international academic reputation of the University.
