Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors of Finance

Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for finance tenure-track and tenured positions at all levels. We are interested in all areas of scholarship, though expertise in real estate finance, sustainability finance, and wealth management may be given special consideration.

FULL PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: Ph.D. and established record of high quality research with evidence of sustained scholarship and publications in top tier finance journals. Candidates are expected to mentor junior faculty members in research and should have effective teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Ph.D. in hand or very close to completion. Candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for high quality research.

ABOUT LEE KONG CHIAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND FINANCE GROUP AT SMU: Founded in January 2000, SMU is the first private university established in Singapore with the Singapore government's funding. The School has grown rapidly and has become a leading business school in the Asia-Pacific region. Despite its young age, it has earned the AACSB and EQUIS accreditations. In the most recent business school rankings by UT-Dallas based on top journal publications, SMU ranks 40th worldwide.

Faculty members in the Finance group have Ph.D.s from Cornell, Emory, Harvard, Iowa, Ohio State, LBS, Princeton, Rochester, Stanford, Washington (St Louis), and UT-Austin, among others. SMU's Finance faculty are productive in research. From 2007 to 2017, they published 34 articles in Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies, which ranks the SMU Finance group 42nd worldwide, 2nd in Asia, and 1st in Singapore. SMU subscribes to all major financial databases and provides generous research funds to support conference travel and other research activities. The group hosts an annual summer research camp; an active research seminar series; and research visits by distinguished finance scholars from leading universities. The Finance group also has a Ph.D. program with high quality students and good recent placements.
