Assistant and Associate Professors of Finance

The Department of Finance at the University of Melbourne is looking to recruit multiple outstanding applicants at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor levels.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants for Assistant Professor should be near completion or have completed a PhD in Finance or Financial Economics and have a strong research agenda indicating the ability to publish in high quality finance journals. Applicants must also have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level. Applicants for Associate Professor should have a PhD in Finance or Financial Economics and appointments will be commensurate with the applicant's publication record, teaching expertise and research leadership. The Department will consider applicants from all areas of finance.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Finance at the University of Melbourne has well established undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs and thus accommodates a wide variety of research and teaching interests. APPOINTMENT TERMS: Assistant Professor appointments are made for a probationary period of five years. Attractive compensation packages will be negotiated with successful applicants including outstanding research and travel funding and six months' paid sabbatical leave every three years. Teaching loads are extremely competitive and new junior faculty also enjoy a one section teaching load in their first year. Commencement is expected to be around the start of September 2018. Associate Professor appointments will be by negotiation.
