Assistant Professor of Practice

The Area of Finance invites applications for a Professor of Practice (open rank and non-tenure-track) position starting in the spring or fall of 2018. Area of teaching interest is open. However, experience in online courses, spreadsheet modeling courses, and bank management courses is a plus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in finance or a Master's degree combined with significant finance related work experience. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department and college is expected. The Area of Finance provides doctoral, master, and undergraduate programs. A successful candidate will be expected to contribute to all programs except the doctoral program.

ABOUT THE AREA OF FINANCE: The Area of Finance is one of six academic units in the AACSB accredited Rawls College of Business Administration. The Area has eleven tenure-track faculty and three professors of practice. The area and college subscribe to all major databases (with access through WRDS) and provide an outstanding technology and computing environment. Current faculty members have recent publications in many of the leading journals including: Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, Financial Management, and Journal of Banking and Finance.
