Faculty Positions in Finance (Financial Analytics)

The Department of Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor level in Financial Analytics with a starting date of September 2018.

JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate excellence in research and in teaching at the undergraduate, MSc, MBA, Research Master and/or Ph.D. levels. Candidates for Assistant Professor positions should have a Ph.D., or expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future, and should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievements in research and teaching.

Financial Analytics: The Department of Finance is currently expanding its expertise in the area of Financial Analytics. The position is open to applicants with an interest in Financial Analytics broadly. Besides Ph.D.'s with a background in finance or financial econometrics, we explicitly also consider applicants with a Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science and Information Science who show an affinity for finance.

Appointments at the assistant professor level are six-year tenure-track positions. Candidates for tenured associate professor positions should have a Ph.D. and a record of outstanding achievement, evidenced in part by publications in top journals. Applicants are expected to teach in English. The compensation package is competitive at the European level and includes several secondary benefits (such as a pension plan). Favorable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.

FURTHER INFORMATION: RSM Finance has access to excellent facilities, including most major databases (WRDS, CRSP, Compustat, Datastream, Bloomberg, I/B/E/S, Thomson One Banker, TAQ, CRSP Mutual Funds, etc.) and a modern building with great views of the city of Rotterdam. Rotterdam is a pleasant and lively harbor city with 600,000 inhabitants located in the west of the Netherlands that provides attractive living conditions for international faculty. The use of English in daily life poses no problem and air, road, and railway connections with major European and U.S. cities are excellent. The standards of healthcare and education in the Netherlands are high, while the costs are low relative to Anglo-Saxon countries.
