IMD Global Board Center
Associate Director (100%)

THE JOB'S MISSION: The Associate Director will work with the Director of the IMD Global Board Center (http://www.imd.org/board/board-center) on research and academic issues. He/she manages the relationship between the Center and IMD's internal and external stakeholders and acts as an ambassador of the Center, leading research activities, as well as representing the Center at external events. He/she substitutes the Director in front of clients and other projects as required. He/she continuously reinforces the Center member's network and maintains the highest level of excellence and client satisfaction through optimal communication processes.

KEY ACTIVITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead the Center's research activities and initiatives with the Director
- Responsible for the Center's overall operations; line manager for research and operational staff
- Ensure the Center's consistent production of academic papers, practitioners articles, reports and other forms of output
- Manage and develop the Center's research strategy and methodology
- Represent the Center at academic conferences and external events whenever the Director is not available
- Conduct and write up interviews with board members and senior executives
- Analyze and draw insights from qualitative and quantitative data in a structured manner
- As applicable, present research to media and groups of executives
- Work collaboratively with other researchers within the IMD Global Board Center, and from external research providers and/or partners

IDEAL PROFILE:
- PhD degree in Management or Finance or a related discipline incorporating elements of qualitative and quantitative research ideally on corporate governance topics
- Strong research credentials with a track record of publishing on governance in high quality peer reviewed journals
- Experience in leading research initiatives and managing researchers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong sense of initiative and commitment
- Strong organizational skills (multiple projects will be running concurrently)
- Deadline and results oriented
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Flexible (heavy workload during peak periods and some travel required)
- Full fluency in English at a native level or equivalent. Other languages are a plus
- Excellent English writing skills and experience writing for executive audiences
