IIMA-IGPC Conference on Gold and Gold Markets
Call For Papers

India Gold Policy Center (IGPC) at IIMA plans to organise a Conference on policy-relevant research on gold related issues. The Conference will focus on a range of topics, from motives of households to invest in gold, the structure of gold markets, to macroeconomic policies relating to gold. The Conference will facilitate interaction among academia, policy makers, and other key stakeholders.

CONFERENCE TOPICS: An illustrative list of topics identified for the Conference could be related (but not limited) to:
- Structure and pricing efficiency of gold markets
- Consumer behaviour with respect to gold
- Retailing and logistics related to gold
- Central bank behaviour relating to gold
- Taxes and tariffs on gold trade
- Household finance and gold
- Linkages among gold and other precious metals, commodities, equity, and debt
- Implications of macroeconomic (fiscal, monetary and trade) policies for gold markets
- Microstructure of gold markets
- Viability and role of spot exchange for gold in India

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Research papers on other topics related to gold will also be considered. Kindly submit your papers by November 30, 2017 to the email: indiagoldevent@iima.ac.in. The selection of papers will be done byDecember 15, 2017. Please note that financial aid for travel may be provided selectively to presenters.
