In cooperation with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, the Engineering Research Network (EngRN) is pleased to announce the International Conference on Advances in Chemical Engineering (AdChE) 2020 online proceedings. The proceedings are available to all users at no charge and contain abstracts of publicly available papers presented at the conference with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun hosted a three-day International Conference, Advances in Chemical Engineering - 2020 (AdChE-2020), during 5-7 February 2020. Eminent speakers from India, USA, Canada and Jordan delivered distinguished and plenary lectures. There were over 300 participants who attended from all over India and the world.

It was an academic treat for the participants as well as for our students. The keynote lecture on the day of the inauguration was presented by Padma Vibhushan Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS. We had 23 other distinguished speakers including Padma Bhushan Prof. J. B. Joshi from ICT Mumbai; Prof. Rakesh Agarwal from Purdue University; Prof. A. B. Pandit from ICT Mumbai; Prof. Sadhan Jana from the University of Akron, USA; Prof. Devang Khakhar from IIT Bombay; Dr. V. Ravikumar from BPCL R&D, and many more. The conference witnessed an eclectic mix of lectures and presentations, with discussions ranging from means and ways of improving the standard of living at the bottom pyramid and solving societal issues to the conversion of carbon dioxide to methanol by solar photocatalysis.

The event also had over 300 papers and poster presentations under various chemical engineering and allied themes like alternate energy resources, chemical reaction and reactor engineering, health safety and environment, materials science, etc.

Needless to say, this conference was a complete success. The student volunteers got a considerable amount of academic and administrative experience and exposure to the best brains from around the world.
