In cooperation with Lodz University of Technology, the Engineering Research Network (EngRN) is pleased to announce the 8th International Conference on Coupled Instabilities in Metal Structures (CIMS 2021) online proceedings. The proceedings are available to all users at no charge and contain abstracts of publicly available papers presented at the conference with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

The 8th International Conference on Coupled Instabilities in Metal Structures Conference (CIMS 2020 run in 2021) was held in Lodz, Poland, July 12-14 2021, in hybrid system. The host institution was the Lodz University of Technology, Department of Strength of Materials. The conference followed the successful series of CIMS conferences going back to 1992.

The conference was attended by 70 participants (23 participants stationary) from Europe, both Americas, Asia and Australia. The participants presented 35 conference papers and 5 key-note lectures from the area of stability of metal and composite materials structures. Particularly, solutions to problems with buckling, post-buckling and mode interaction as well as failure of metallic structural systems, nanostructures and those made of composite materials were presented. Conference papers and key-note lectures were devoted to the wide research area, including theoretical formulations and analytical procedures, numerical simulations, experimental testing, dynamic behavior of structures, behaviour of structures at elevated temperatures, design codes of practice and standards.
