City University of Hong Kong School of Law was established in 1987 as the Department of Law and was renamed as School of Law in 1998. The principal objective of the School is to support and improve the provision of legal education and training in Hong Kong and seeks to achieve this objective through teaching, research and international publications and specialist projects. Research Papers published by the School of Law focus on a number of areas, including Chinese and comparative law, Chinese constitutional law and Hong Kong Basic Law, cross-border legal issues between Hong Kong and the Mainland, Chinese foreign investment and trade law, international and comparative environmental law, comparative law theory and practice, socio-legal studies and economic analysis of law, international law and international trade law, arbitration and alternative dispute resolutions.
