In cooperation with Uttaranchal University, the Chemistry Research Network (ChemRN) is pleased to announce the International Conference on New Horizons in Green Chemistry & Technology (ICGCT), 27-28 November 2018 eJournal. This eJournal is available to all subscribers at no charge and contains abstracts of the meeting papers with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

The International Conference on New Horizons in Green Chemistry & Technology was organized by the College of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, India on 27-28 November 2018 in association with the Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun, India and the American Chemical Society (ACS). Green chemistry, which is also known as sustainable chemistry, is an area of chemical science and chemical engineering specifically focused on the designing of products and processes that aim to minimize the use and generation of hazardous substances. Current research suggests a tremendous potential and scope for green chemistry in the development of environmentally friendly, synthetic methods and techniques based upon better catalytic systems, and production of solvents which are less harmful. The objective of the conference was to provide an opportunity for a diverse network of academicians, researchers, industrial and government stakeholders to learn about the newest ideas in sustainable approaches to green chemistry, chemicals, processes, and products. Submission of abstracts and full length research papers, sessions (key note lectures and invited talks) and presentations (oral and poster) were executed under subthemes including Biofuels, Biopolymers & Bioplastics, Green & Environmental Chemistry, Agro-biotech & Food Technology, Nanotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Natural Chemistry, and others.

About 400 participants from various universities and institutes, both from other countries and from India, were present at the conference. Papers from various organisations - such as the Russian Academy of Sciences-Moscow, Cardiff University-UK, Indian Institute of Petroleum-Dehradun, Forest Research Institute-Dehradun, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-BHU, IIT-Kharagpur, Aligarh Muslim University, GBPant University-Pantanagar, HNB Garhwal University, etc. - were received and presented at the conference.
