In cooperation with Saurashtra University, the Biology Research Network (BioRN) is pleased to announce the National Conference on Innovations in Biological Sciences (NCIBS) 2020 online proceedings. The proceedings are available to all users at no charge and contain abstracts of publicly available papers presented at the conference with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

The Department of Biosciences, Saurashtra University, Rajkot was established in 1969 by Prof. S.C. Pandeya on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The department started with a focus in Environmental Sciences and gradually developed into other areas of research such as biodiversity, taxonomy, ecology, desertification, physiology, bioresources utilization, molecular biology, bioinformatics and evolutionary analysis. The department recently completed the first phase of the UGC-Center of Advanced Study.

Since UGC-CAS Department of Biosciences has completed 50 years of its establishment and to celebrate the golden jubilee, the National Conference on Innovations in Biological Sciences 2020 was organized on 10th January 2020. The conference aimed to generate awareness among research scholars regarding applications of biological resources; to develop understanding in the basic and applied fields of biology; to provide a platform for scientists, young researchers and students to interact and develop fruitful collaborations among various institutions; and to provide opportunities for sharing ideas and knowledge among the participants of the conference.
