JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have earned or being close to attaining a PhD in Accounting, Finance or equivalent, obtained in Italy or abroad, and a promising track record in peer-reviewed research in financial accounting, banking, financial economics or corporate governance.
The Department is particularly interested in applicants who will contribute to the research activities of the accounting group. Applicants need to meet the following conditions: a) demonstrate a promising track record in leading peer-reviewed international journals; b) proficiency in spoken and written English.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The position offered is at the Post-Doctoral level in Accounting (Assegnista di Ricerca - SECS-P/07 in the Italian system). This is a 18-months full-time research only position. The contract does not guarantee automatic renewal, but this can be discussed based on mutually agreed principles.
The salary is comparable to other public European universities and, depending on individual circumstances. A starting research grant will be discussed and made available by the Department. Early career researchers can be awarded additional research funds if their performance is excellent.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova was founded in 1989 and counts over 2000 students and more than 65 faculty members conducting research in economics or business fields. In 2016 the University guide 'Grande Guida' ranked the Department at the first place among large universities for teaching quality in the areas of Economics and Statistics. The Department ranked fourth in Italy in terms of research quality and productivity. Research carried out in accounting has been ranked third in Italy by the National independent agency (ANVUR).
Out of 850 assessed Universities, our Department is also at the top of the U-Multirank international ranking. The working language of the Department of Economics and Management is Italian, whereas teaching is done mainly in English across the Masters and PhD levels.
