Assistant, Associate and Full Faculty Positions in Accounting
The Department of Accounting invites applications for assistant, associate and full faculty position(s) beginning August 27th, 2018, in all topical areas, including audit, tax, financial and managerial accounting. The rank of the position(s) is open. Compensation, discretionary budgets, and teaching loads are comparable to Public Big 10 institutions and other large research oriented public universities.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) with over 29,000 students is the largest university in one of the world's most vibrant cities. The university was formed in 1982 by the consolidation of two University of Illinois campuses - the Medical Center campus, which dates back to the 19th century and the comprehensive Chicago Circle campus which opened in 1965. ABOUT THE COLLEGE: Over the past 4 years, the College of Business Administration has experienced significant growth in student enrollments and has actively recruited faculty in all disciplines. Approximately 38% of current tenured/tenure track faculty were recruited in the last 3 years. College wide assistant professors have come from a diverse set of institutions including Carnegie Mellon University, Ohio State University, New York University, Northwestern University, University of Michigan and University of Southern California, among others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: At the Assistant Professor level, a Ph.D., completed or near completion, and strong potential for quality research and teaching is expected. Applicants at the Associate or Full Professor level must have a Ph.D. and an excellent record of scholarly research activity and teaching consistent with a senior-level faculty appointment.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The position(s) will encompass research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, service to the department, college and university, and outreach to the business communities.
