Jesse H. Jones Professor of Business Administration

Trinity University invites applications for the position of the Jesse H. Jones Professor of Business Administration (Accounting) within the School of Business, effective August 2018.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires a Ph.D., D.B.A., or equivalent degree in Accounting. An established record of research, a commitment to continued scholarship, and excellence in teaching are required. A successful applicant will also demonstrate an appreciation of Trinity's general education requirements with its emphasis on experiential learning and global awareness. The teaching load is two courses per semester (six contact hours). The ideal candidate would have an interest in teaching courses in the area of financial accounting. The salary is competitive.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: Between 2012 and 2016, the average first-time section pass rate on the Uniform CPA Examination for Trinity graduates was 73.4%, compared to the national average of 55%. Among our 14 AACSB peer and aspirant schools, Trinity graduates ranked #2 in CPA exam performance during that period. For the 2016 calendar year, the first-time pass rate was 78%. This pass rate ranks Trinity #5 nationally among almost 300 medium-sized accounting programs and #1 among AACSB peer and aspirant schools. The majority of Trinity M.S. in Accounting graduates accept employment with the Big Four upon completion of the program, while others choose to accept employment offers from other national, regional and local CPA firms, with the program achieving a 100% job placement rate.

The AACSB-accredited School of Business graduates an average of 150 majors per year. The bachelor’s degree in accounting is one of five undergraduate majors offered and the Master of Science in Accounting is the only graduate degree program in the School of Business.
