Senior Lecturer in Financial Planning/Advice
We invite applications for a full-time tenured faculty in Financial Planning/Advice at the University's Manawatu campus, in Palmerston North. Massey University and its Business School have made a large commitment to research and scholarship, which has resulted in Finance at Massey University being highly ranked in New Zealand. We are accredited by AACSB, Association of MBA's and are a CFA partner school. The School of Economics & Finance offers degree and diploma courses at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: You will have a PhD in Financial Planning or a related area. You should have a record of research success, or at least be able to produce evidence of such research potential, along with a strong desire to interact closely with a group of diverse international faculty. Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching interest in Personal Finance/Insurance Planning/Risk Management. It would be of added advantage should you hold the CFP designation. Research supervision of honours, masters and doctoral students is also expected.
JOB DESCRIPTION: We offer a low teaching load (typically three courses a year) which can be further reduced with excellent research outcomes. Beginning academics will normally start their career with us at a reduced teaching load in the first year. Research activities within the School are supported by a collegial research environment, a Research consultant, an IT Research Analyst and major databases such as Datastream, CRSP, Compustat etc. We support international conferences and other staff development activities. Our staff are actively engaged in research and have published in top journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Empirical Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, among others.
