2015 Year-End President's Letter

SSRN delivered well over 1 million PDFs last month and will reach 100 million downloads in the middle of 2016. 100 million is an exciting milestone and we are very grateful to the entire SSRN Community. Thank you! The SSRN eLibrary currently has 643,000 paper abstracts from close to 300,000 authors and our CiteReader technology, built with ITX Corp., has extracted 9 million references and 9 million footnotes, and matched 6 million citations from our 537,000 full text papers.

There have been some exciting improvements to the website in the last six months. Authors may now choose to display a photo and CV on their Author pages, which will allow us to connect on a more personal level. Authors, we invite you to upload your photo and CV by signing into SSRN HQ and selecting "Personal Info" on the left menu. We redesigned our search functionality and enhanced it to allow network filtering, and we will soon release full-text searching. Also early in 2016, we will release additional Author and Department rankings in Accounting and Political Science.

Our year-end distribution break is scheduled for Monday, 21 December 2015 through Sunday, 3 January 2016. During the break, SSRN's eJournals will not be distributed so that we can improve the performance of our servers and ensure the highest quality system performance. We will continue to provide support for downloads, submissions, and subscriptions but there will be periods of time during the break when the site is unavailable.

For any requests during the break, please contact customer support at SSRNSupport@SSRN.com or call toll free 877-SSRNHelp (877-777-6435). Outside of the United States, call +1 585 442 8170. We are available Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 6:00PM, United States Eastern time.

Please share your feedback and experiences about SSRN with me directly at Gregg_Gordon@SSRN.com or use our "Feedback to SSRN" link available on most SSRN web pages. Our team is always interested to hear how SSRN affects you personally, and I am always happy to connect and talk about scholarly communication.

Thank you for your continued support!
