Rhetoric & Writing Research Network

Rhetoric & Writing Preprints

From the ancient Greeks to the Internet, from politics to the workplace, rhetoric and writing addresses the methods and media by which people communicate and the skills and strategies that make that discourse effective. The Rhetoric & Writing Research Network on SSRN is an open access preprint server that provides a venue for authors to showcase their research papers in our digital library, speeding up the dissemination and providing the scholarly community access to groundbreaking working papers and early stage research. SSRN provides the opportunity to share different outputs of research such as preliminary or exploratory investigations, book chapters, PhD dissertations, course and teaching materials, presentations, and posters among others. SSRN also helps rhetoric and writing scholars discover the latest research in their own and other fields of interest, while providing a platform for the early sharing of their own work, making it available for subsequent work to be built upon more quickly.

The Rhetoric & Writing Research Network indexes scholarly research in contemporary and classical rhetoric and writing theory, professional and technical communication, argumentation and persuasion, visual and other multimodal writing, and much more. SSRN fosters the interdisciplinary connection, helping scholars discover the latest research in their own and other related fields including classics, philosophy, communication studies, and cognitive science and by providing a unique window on current and historical approaches to discourse.
