Financial Economists and Senior Financial Economists

The Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. welcomes diversity and is seeking new and experienced Ph.D. financial economists with a broad range of interests, skills, and backgrounds to conduct innovative research and policy analysis in a collaborative workplace.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must demonstrate the potential to contribute creatively to academic research and policy and to participate in policy analysis as part of teams with diverse backgrounds, skills, and viewpoints. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related discipline, or must be nearing completion of their doctoral dissertation. At the senior level, candidates must have a strong ongoing publication record in areas of interest to the Board.

The Board is interested in a broad range of topics in economics and finance, including, but are not limited to: domestic and international financial markets, financial stability, institutions and structure; banking; risk management and capital adequacy; financial risk modeling; asset pricing; derivative pricing and markets; consumer and business financial decision-making; payment systems; systemic risk; financial econometrics; the relationship between the financial sector and aggregate economic activity; and monetary policy.

The Board employs over 300 Ph.D. economists with a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and expertise. Researchers at the Board benefit from extensive and unique data resources, state-of-the-art computing facilities, highly trained and motivated research assistants, and active speaker series and workshops.
