Applications are invited for the temporary post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Finance within the UCD College of Business UCD College of Business is Ireland's leading business school and research centre. In 2009 we officially celebrated 100 years of business education.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The UCD College of Business consists of the UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business ('the Quinn School') focused on undergraduate education, and the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business ('the Smurfit School'). The Quinn School is located on the main Campus at Belfield while the Smurfit School is located at Blackrock about five kilometres away. Academic staff teach in both schools.

One of the keystones of the School's reputation as one of the world's leading business schools is the quality and expertise of our Faculty. We are the only business school in Ireland to hold the triple crown of accreditation from AACSB (US), EQUIS (Europe) and AMBA (UK). We are also the only Irish member of CEMS, a global alliance of leading business schools and multinational companies. We have been consistently ranked in the top 100 business schools in the Financial Times' highly competitive global full-time MBA rankings and are currently ranked as 70th in the world and 22nd in Europe. The MSc in Finance is also ranked within the top 40 in the world.

The current research interests of faculty members in the Finance area include operational risk, aviation finance, investments, asset pricing, corporate finance, econometrics and risk modelling.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will actively participate in the following areas and will have a track record in:

Research: The Subject Group places strong emphasis on research leading to publication in international, peer-reviewed academic journals and in leading debate in the field of Finance in the academic and public space. Members of faculty are widely published in journals such as Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Econometrics, European Journal of Operational Research, Management Science and Journal of Corporate Finance. The School has an extensive range of data resources, which currently include; CRSP, Compustat, Optionmetrics, Nasdaq, London stock Exchange, Bankscope, BarklayHedge, HFR, NYSE Euronext Short Interest and TAQ, GFI, CRB, Bloomberg, DataStream and Thomson Reuters.

Teaching and Learning: The Subject Area makes a significant contribution to the School's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including in particular the BSc in Economics and Finance, MSc in Finance, MSc in Quantitative Finance and the recently launched MSc in Aviation Finance.

Administration: Assume administrative and managerial duties as appropriate to the role - 95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar)

Salary Scale: Euro 51,807- Euro 79,194 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
