Associate or Full Professor in Finance

Miami University invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor to begin August 2018 to contribute to the central elements of the departmental and divisional mission by combining outstanding research with excellent teaching and service.  We welcome candidates from any area of finance.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Teaching assignments at the undergraduate and graduate level in Finance at the Oxford campus and/or our MBA program in West Chester, Ohio (a northern suburb of Cincinnati) consistent with candidate expertise and interests; maintaining an active research program targeted at leading journals in the field; providing service to the university.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Doctorate in finance or closely related field.  For appointment to the rank of associate professor, a candidate must demonstrate high-quality teaching, high-quality research/scholarly achievement through publications, the prospective continuation of both high-quality teaching and high-quality research/scholarly achievement, and productive professional service.

To be appointed to the rank of full professor, a candidate must demonstrate a cumulative record of high-quality teaching, a cumulative record of research/scholarly achievement which has resulted in an established reputation within the discipline, productive professional service, and professional collegiality within a department, division, university.

Qualified candidates at the professor level may be considered for appointment to the Anderson Professorship in Finance. In addition to meeting all of the requirements for appointment as a Professor in Finance, including having an outstanding record of scholarly publication, appointment to the Anderson Professorship in Finance requires demonstrated the ability to lead and collaborate with others on research projects, demonstrated ability to mentor junior faculty on research projects, as well as being considered a current thought leader in finance.
