JOB DESCRIPTION: Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Finance, jointly offered by the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Business, to commence on July 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at the Professor level may be considered for appointments on tenure terms.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in finance or related areas. All fields of finance will be considered. The appointees should be able to teach in the doctoral, master's, and undergraduate degree programmes; and are expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research, teaching and services. Candidates for a Professorship should also have a proven record of high-quality scholarship and teaching, and be able to conduct an ongoing active research agenda and provide leadership and services within the Faculty of Business and Economics and the University.

FURTHER INFORMATION: The finance group consists of 20 research-active faculty members and runs a high-quality weekly seminar series. HKU colleagues published 24 papers in JF, JFE, and RFS since 2013 (top 20 in UT Dallas Business School Ranking based on these three journals). Teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
