Financial Economists and Senior Financial Economists

The Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC seeks a diverse pool of new and experienced Ph.D. financial economists to conduct innovative research and policy analysis in a broad range of topics in economics and finance. Fields include, but are not limited to: domestic and international financial markets, financial stability, institutions and structure; banking; risk management and capital adequacy; financial risk modeling; asset pricing; derivative pricing and markets; consumer and business financial decision-making; payment systems; systemic risk; financial econometrics; the relationship between the financial sector and aggregate economic activity; and monetary policy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must demonstrate the potential to contribute substantially to academic research and policy analysis and to recognize and articulate differing viewpoints related to their work. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related discipline, or must be nearing completion of their doctoral dissertation. At the senior level, candidates must have a strong ongoing publication record in areas of interest to the Board.

The Board employs over 300 Ph.D. economists with a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and expertise.
