Research Master and PhD in Finance

The CentER Graduate School of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management invites candidates to apply for its 5-year graduate program in Business - Finance Track starting in August 2018.

CentER's Finance graduate program is among Europe's best PhD schools. ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The graduate program consists of two years of graduate level coursework (Research Master, RM), followed by three years of PhD dissertation research. The RM phase covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics as well as field courses in corporate finance, asset pricing, banking, behavioral finance, and advanced topics in finance. Student with a particularly strong background may be exceptionally admitted to the second year of the RM. CentER's graduate school offers a broad choice of advanced courses in economics, including behavioral and experimental, (financial) econometrics, accounting, and strategy. All courses are taught by internationally renowned academics, including visiting scholars invited from abroad. The PhD phase trains students to develop original scholarly research at the frontiers of financial economics. All courses are taught in English, which is the University's official language.

During the RM phase candidates are registered as students at Tilburg University. Generous funding packages cover tuition and living costs. In the PhD phase candidates have an employment contract and earn a salary of approximately 24K Euro net/year.

WHICH STUDENTS ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We look for ambitious, intellectually curious, and hard-working students who want to become leading scholars or contribute to public or private institutions. Applicants should have a strong background in economics or business, an aptitude to critical and creative thinking, and a strong motivation.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess the following requirements:
- An high quality Bachelor's or (preferably) Master's degree in business (finance), econometrics, or economics.
- Excellent academic record (top 10% of their class).
- A recent GMAT or GRE test score (above least 90%).
- Proficiency in English, (TOEFL above 100, or IETLS above 7.0).
- At least two academic letters of reference, a personal motivation letter, and an up-to-date CV.
