45th EFA Annual Meeting
Call For Papers - Submissions Open

August 22-25, 2018, Warsaw, Poland

Members and friends of the European Finance Association (EFA) are invited to submit research papers for the 45th EFA Annual Meeting to be held at the Sofitel hotel in Warsaw, Poland, August 22-25, 2018. Papers that have already been presented at major conferences such as the AFA or WFA will be given a lower priority, at the margin. Each person is restricted to one submission.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: The submission system is now open. Papers should be electronically submitted through the EFA 2018 website http://www.efa-meetings.org/submission

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Thursday, February 1, 2018, 1:00 pm (13:00 hrs) Central European Time (CET).

REVIEWING: Papers will be anonymously reviewed by multiple members of the Program Committee. Authors will be notified of the Program Committee's decision by the end of April 2018. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the entire conference and be available to serve as session chairs or discussants.

The final EFA 2018 program will be available in mid-June 2018.

SUBMISSIONS REQUIRE EFA MEMBERSHIP FOR 2018: You must be an EFA member for the 2018 calendar year in order to submit a paper to the EFA 2018 Annual Meeting. To avoid the rush and any last-minute delays in submitting your paper by the deadline, please renew or sign up for membership as soon as possible. There is no additional submission fee beyond the EFA membership fee.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: We are pleased to announce that the keynote speaker at the EFA 2018 Annual Meeting is Jeremy C. Stein, the Moise Y. Safra Professor of Economics at Harvard University.

SPECIAL SESSIONS: The EFA 2018 Annual Meeting offers four special sessions in collaboration with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the European Central Bank (ECB), the Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), and Unigestion. This year, the papers for the special sessions will be chosen from the entire pool of papers submitted to the conference. Information about the focus of these sessions is on the conference website at http://www.efa-meetings.org/special-sessions

DOCTORAL EVENTS: The EFA organizes two one-day events on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. The Doctoral Tutorial is intended for students who are nearing completion of their PhD and are about to enter the job market. The Doctoral Workshop is for PhD students who are in their second or third year and have an interest in household finance.

Submissions to these events run separately from the main conference. Applications should be submitted between February 15-March 15 (1 pm Central European Time), 2018. More information can be found at http://www.efa-meetings.org/doctoral-events
