7th MoFiR Workshop on Banking
Call For Papers

Co-organized with the European Commission - Joint Research Centre

June 13-15, 2018, Ancona (Italy)

After six successful workshops in Ancona (2012, 2013, 2014), Kobe (2015), Chicago (2016) and London (2017) the Money and Finance Research Group (MoFiR) together with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission are pleased to announce that the next workshop on Banking will be held in Ancona, Italy, at the Universita Politecnica delle Marche on June 13-15, 2018.

OVERVIEW: The organizing committee of this small informal workshop invites submissions of high-quality theoretical and empirical research on financial intermediation. Scholars in the fields of banking and finance will meet to discuss current issues in banking, financial stability, and financial regulation, focusing on policy reforms for a stable global financial environment. The workshop will provide an opportunity for presentations and discussions about policy-relevant research in an informal and highly interactive environment.

The keynote speaker will be George G. Pennacchi (University of Illinois).

This year the workshop will include an additional half-day (June 13 afternoon) on the theme "Banks and taxes", with invited papers. Travel and accommodation costs for presenters and invited discussants will be reimbursed for an amount up to EUR 500 for European travelers and EUR 1,200 for overseas travelers. There is no conference fee. Two invitation-only conference dinners will be held on June 13 and 14.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Submissions (full papers accepted only) should be emailed to mofir@univpm.it by January 31, 2018. In the subject header please add "Submission MoFiR 2018". In the case of multiple-authored papers, please indicate who will present. Papers will be selected by the program committee and corresponding authors will be notified of acceptance by April 15, 2018. Given capacity constraints and to promote an active discussion, preference will be given to authors who can attend the whole workshop.
