Legal Specialist (Habilitation/Postdoctoral Position)

The Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn has a team of about 90 people, including scholars and visiting researchers.

One of its two directors, Professor Dr Christoph Engel, is currently searching for a Legal Specialist (Habilitation/Postdoctoral Position) to begin work as soon as possible, initially for three years and with a further possibility of another three years maximum.

JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be a member of an interdisciplinary team of legal scholars, economists and psychologists. Your application should reflect the way in which your scientific project would profit from this context. Knowledge of, or experience in, the social sciences would be ideal, but are not a prerequisite. The ideal candidate should be willing to become acquainted with social-science methodology, to the extent that you can evaluate and use the results for your own work, as well as playing an active part in co-authoring publications on interdisciplinary projects.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in law, as well as a doctorate (not necessarily in public law)
- For German candidates: two state examinations (Staatsexamen), obtained with distinction (Pradikat)
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
