The Global Poverty Research Lab uses empirical evidence to address the challenges of overcoming poverty and improving well-being in the developing world. It is housed within the Buffett Institute for Global Studies at Northwestern University and is an academic hub for empirical development economics and related disciplines. The Global Poverty Research Lab Working Paper Series provides insight into the mechanisms behind economic development through the publication and promotion of rigorous research. It leverages the expertise of its interdisciplinary affiliated faculty to deliver research results and related policy implications across a breadth of issues. The series also embodies the Global Poverty Research Lab's commitment to research transparency in an effort to foster a culture of open, reproducible research practices.
