Computing, Communication and Data Engineering technologies are critical to India's future and underpin the realization of the Vision 2030. It is essential that ICT enabled services meet the rise in demand for health and social care and to modernize services in domains of public interest such as education, learning, security, energy, transport, and the environment. Computing, Communication and Data Engineering related development continues to emerge, grow, and spread as a global phenomenon that spans and connects culture, technology, and organization. There is now ever-increasing bandwidth capable of handling media delivery, computing, telephony and so many more applications yet to be developed. In the above context, the theme of CCODE 2018 was "Computing, Communication and Data Engineering" aiming at bringing experts, researchers, and faculty together to discuss the technological advancements in this domain. The theme was well appreciated by academia and industry. It attracted eminent personalities on its international advisory board, and researchers and practitioners worldwide, as resource persons for pre-conference tutorials and for contributed papers from all over the world.

We received over 400 technical papers out of which domain experts and technical reviewers accepted about 150 papers for publication into the proceedings of the conference as regular, short and poster papers after thorough review. The international speakers and contributors included individuals from University of Jordan, Jordan; Fordham University, USA; Southeast Missouri State University, USA; Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz University, KSA; University of Sfax, Tunisia; Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan and Mizan-tepi University, Ethiopia. Within India, the conference invited speakers and resource persons from leading institutes/universities such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, VIT, Anna University, Visvesvaraya Technological University, and JNTU, Hyderabad, apart from leading ICT companies.

The conference had a total of 9 tracks, during 7-8 February 2018, covering technologies, protocols, design, implementation, applications, methodologies, best practices, and case studies. Each technical session had a keynote talk, presentation of technical papers and discussions moderated by an expert. Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat, distinguished keynote speaker, spoke about Key Enabling Technologies for Smart Homes and Cities, and Samples of Our Related Works.

We take this opportunity to thank our honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. V. Durgabhavani, Rector Prof. V. Uma, Registrar Prof. D. M. Mamatha and the Dean of Sciences Prof. K. Sandhyarani, for motivating and guiding us, and for their generous support in terms of providing infrastructure and resources necessary for hosting the conference. We sincerely thank all the members of our international advisory board, invited speakers, resource persons, authors and delegates/participants without whom this international event would have been inconceivable.

We also thank functional/administrative groups of our university who have provided all the logistic support and their helping hands in numerous activities related with the conference. Last but not least, we thank each one of our colleagues from the Department of Computer Science who have been working tirelessly for several months to realize this conference.
