Classics Research Network

Classics

Classics, as a field of study, encompasses all aspects of the ancient societies of Greece and Rome. The Classics Research Network on SSRN is an open access preprint server that provides a venue for authors to showcase their research papers in our digital library, speeding up the dissemination and providing the scholarly community access to groundbreaking working papers and early-stage research. SSRN provides the opportunity to share different outputs of research such as preliminary or exploratory investigations, book chapters, PhD dissertations, course and teaching materials, presentations, and posters among others. SSRN also helps Classics scholars discover the latest research in their own and other fields of interest, while providing a platform for the early sharing of their own work, making it available for subsequent work to be built upon more quickly.

To understand many aspects of the modern Western world, we must understand their origins in ancient Greece and Rome. Classics is a strongly interdisciplinary field, offering opportunities for collaboration between scholars and scientists in subjects as different as Chemistry and Art History, or Linguistics and Biology. SSRN helps researchers in the field of Classics stay up-to-date with the latest work being done in the many disciplines related to their own field. The interdisciplinary nature of SSRN also allows Classics researchers to share and connect with researchers in other fields who may not normally encounter their work.
