Tenure Track Faculty Position

Applications are invited for a full-time, tenure track position at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank with a preference for those specializing in accounting information systems or information technology audit, beginning Fall 2018.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for an individual who shares our commitment to excellence and will help the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business achieve its mission of becoming recognized globally as top-tier within its chosen strategic focus. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a capacity to establish an exemplary record of rigorous and relevant research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service to the profession. The ideal candidate will also be recognized both within academia, the broader accounting community as an ethical leader, and have applied technical work experience within the information technology discipline. It is expected that he/she will be a highly productive researcher and effective teacher, maintain a presence as a leading scholar, and build strong networks with prominent individuals in academia, business, and government.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any Rank
- Doctorate in Accounting or related field from a prominent and AACSB business school. (ABD considered, but dissertation must be completed prior to appointment)
- Highly effective communications skills, including listening, writing, and speaking
- Demonstration of collegiality among peers and constituents
- Ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable way
- A strong commitment to staying current in the applicant's field as well as professionally or academically qualified depending on appointment

Assistant Professor
- Evidence of established or emerging research stream(s) with publication potential in top-quality accounting journals
- Demonstration of teaching experience and effectiveness through student evaluations, peer evaluations, or achievement of learning outcomes
- Willingness to accept some departmental and college service assignments

Associate Professor
- Already attained rank at AACSB-accredited institution or demonstrated record to support appointment as an associate professor at USU
- Demonstrated excellence in research. May be demonstrated in ways such as the following:
-- Some publications in the top-quality accounting journals
-- Additional publications in other quality and high quality academic journals
-- Active research stream (e.g., multiple papers in various stages of preparation including data collection, data analysis, under review)
-- Conference proceedings and presentations
-- National scholarly reputation
-- Ability to mentor and/or collaborate with students and/or colleagues on research projects
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching. May be demonstrated in ways such as the following:
-- Experience teaching at undergraduate and Master's levels with above-average teaching evaluations
-- Evidence of innovation in the classroom
-- Ability to direct student projects
- Demonstrated effectiveness in service activities such as:
-- Editorial responsibilities for quality journals, AAA-sponsored conferences
-- Participation in service activities at university, college and department levels

Full Professor
- Already attained rank at AACSB-accredited institution or demonstrated record to support appointment as full professor at USU
- Demonstrated excellence in research. May be demonstrated in ways such as the following:
-- Multiple publications in top-quality accounting journals
-- Extensive publications in other quality and high quality academic journals
-- Active research stream (e.g., multiple papers in various stages of preparation including data collection, data analysis, under review)
-- Multiple conference proceedings and presentations
-- International scholarly reputation
-- Ability to mentor and/or collaborate with students and/or colleagues on research projects
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching. May be demonstrated in ways such as the following:
-- Experience teaching at undergraduate and Master's levels with above average teaching evaluations
-- Evidence of innovation in the classroom
-- Ability to direct student projects
- Demonstrated excellence in service:
-- Editorial board responsibilities for quality journals, AAA-sponsored conferences
-- Evidence of external leadership (e.g., officer in professional organization, center director)
-- Evidence of internal leadership at university, college and department levels

Salary/Benefits Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. A fully competitive benefits package includes TIAA/CREF, and life, medical, dental, and disability insurance.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School of Accountancy is housed in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. This department serves approximately 300 accounting majors and provides service courses to students throughout the Huntsman School of Business and the broader university community. The department also supports a MAcc program and provides service courses to a MBA program. The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and the School of Accountancy seeks to be nationally acclaimed for innovation and excellence. Therefore, the ideal faculty candidate will be passionate about shared vision, and be interested in working cooperatively toward these desired end results of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and the School of Accountancy.
