Faculty Position in Accounting

The Department of Accounting in the Sam M. Walton College of Business seeks at least one Assistant Professor (tenure-track position) beginning August 2018. Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a Ph.D. in accounting, outstanding potential to publish archival research in any area of accounting (financial, audit, tax, systems, etc.), and a strong commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching.

ABOUT THE LOCATION: The University of Arkansas is a nationally-competitive, student-centered, research university with approximately 28,000 students. The Walton College and Accounting Department are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The Department offers degrees at the Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral levels. The city of Fayetteville is located in the northwest corner of the state. It is a city of approximately 70,000 with a regional population of more than 400,000. The region boasts one of the highest growth rates and is consistently listed among the most desirable places to live in the U.S. The Northwest Arkansas region is home to several Fortune 500 companies, a thriving arts community, entrepreneurial investment centers, and outdoor recreation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a doctorate (or expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 15, 2018) in accounting from a nationally or internationally accredited university.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who possess strong research records or the potential to publish in top-tier journals, have the ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom and value collegiality.
