The Ibero-American Seminar on Water and Drainage Networks (SEREA 2017) is an academic meeting that has been consolidated as a space for the exchange of technical experiences and research related to drinking water supply and drainage systems in Latin America. Among the topics discussed are: water resource and characterization of natural sources, emerging technologies in urban water, water services in future cities, and urban drainage, among others. We had the participation of important researchers in the field, from various countries of Latin America, as well as parallel sessions where participants had the opportunity to share and comment on their research. Additionally, in this meeting, were provided to the attendees an overview of the water utilities sector in Colombia through the presentations of Public Service Companies of the most important cities in the country and a technical visit to the main supply source of Bogotá city and surrounding municipalities.
