Assistant Professor Position
The Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management of Universita Bocconi, Milan (Italy), http://www.unibocconi.eu, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the junior faculty level.
The research and teaching activities of the Department focus on policy design, implementation, assessment and management, both at the level of single organizations and at the levels of national and supra-national aggregates, both in comparative and dynamic perspective.
JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS: The scientific profile of the candidate will be interdisciplinary and oriented towards empirical research. Applicants are expected to have expertise and a strong profile in one or more than one of the research areas of the Department, including:
- Economic Policy (13/A2 e SECS-P/02)
- Public and Healthcare Management (13/B1 e SECS-P/07)
- Economic and Social History (13/C1 e SECS-P/12)
- Sociology (14D1 e SECS-P/09)
- Demography and Population Studies (13/D3 e SECS-S/04 and S/05)
- Political Science (14A2 e SPS/04)
- Economics (13A1 e SECS-P/01)
- Quantitative Methods for Social and Health Sciences (13/D2 e SECS-S/03)
- Public Economics (13/A3 e SECS-P/03)
The deadline for applications will be May 26th, 2013. The selected candidates may be invited to give a job talk at Bocconi in June 2013. The appointment will start with the academic year 2013-2014 (Fall 2013).
Contract will be running for up to eight years (with one paid sabbatical year and subject to renewal after the first three years). There is the possibility of promotion to a tenured position by the end of that period.
Applicants must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Italian is not required.
Responsibilities include teaching and research and particular value is placed on applicants with research portfolios that are international in scope. The appointed person is expected to publish in international refereed journals.
Applicants should have or be close to completing a Ph.D. and should have demonstrated strong potential in research and teaching.
Compensation and teaching load are competitive with other top European academic institutions.
