The Humane Studies Fellowship

Up to $15,000 for full-time graduate students pursuing liberty-advancing research.

The Humane Studies Fellowship is a non-residency, renewable fellowship program that awards $2,000-$15,000 per year to each participant, and provides individual academic advising and a support network to foster academic success.

QUALIFICATIONS: The fellowship is open to full-time graduate students (including law students) from accredited universities anywhere in the world with research interests related to liberty in society, as well as advanced undergraduates with solid plans to pursue an academic career.

Interested applicants should be able to show how their work relates to the humanities (even if the core discipline falls outside the humanities), and that they are dedicated to advancing the ideas of liberty through research and teaching.

DESCRIPTION: By winning a Humane Studies Fellowship you will join a network of over 1,400 liberty-advancing scholars and students, including David Schmidtz at the University of Arizona, Tyler Cowen at George Mason University, and Randall Kroszner at the University of Chicago. You will also have an opportunity to attend invitation-only programs such as Career Development Seminars, Research Colloquiums, and weekend seminars co-sponsored with Liberty Fund.

APPLICATIONS/FURTHER INFORMATION: Applications for 2013-14 funding must be received by January 31. For applications submitted by January 5, the $25 application fee can be waived with the code HSFJan5.
