Postdoctoral Student Researcher

The Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation has an opening for a Postdoctoral Student Researcher for AY 2013-14, starting July 1, 2013. The postdoctoral position is open only to those that have completed their PhD but have not accepted a tenure-track assistant/associate professor position.

JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS: This position would report to the Faculty Director of the Garwood Center, Professor Henry Chesbrough. The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. degree at a leading university in the area of innovation research and management. The successful candidate will be expected to build a body of research output to strengthen the intellectual capital of the Garwood Center during his or her time in the position, including academic journal articles, cases, research notes and conference write-ups. The successful candidate will also have a proven ability to write for both academic and management audiences. Preference will be given to those candidates who have published work directly germane to the mission of the Garwood Center, for research into and application of innovation in a corporate context, in contrast to startups or small businesses. These topics include: business model innovation, IP management and innovation, corporate venturing, open innovation, and ambidexterity. APPLICATION PROCEDURE: The position is for the duration of one year, and is renewable for a second year upon mutual agreement between the candidate and the hiring supervisor. Salary and benefits will be competitive with other postdoctoral research positions at leading business schools. Candidates are required to submit the following materials with their application:
- A current copy of their Curriculum Vita
- Three letters of recommendation from academic advisers
- A statement from the candidate's thesis chair, stating that the candidate is expected to complete his or her dissertation by June 30, 2013
- A writing sample of research in the innovation domain of no more than 30 pages
