Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, located in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., is a private, not-for-profit, independent, graduate-level, research-driven institute developed with the support and cooperation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The goal of the Institute is to develop, over a period of years, indigenous R&D capacity in Abu Dhabi, addressing issues of importance to the region in critical areas such as: renewable energy, sustainability, environment, water resources and microelectronics. Faculty Positions in Engineering Systems and Management
The Engineering Systems and Management Program at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology invites applications for positions at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The search is open to candidates with the following expertise: entrepreneurship and innovation, management of technology, product design and development/industrial engineering, operations management (manufacturing, technology innovation) and industrial economics (industrial organization, technology policy, economic development), system engineering and system architecture, system project management (planning and scheduling, decision support systems, infrastructure systems).
Those applying for these positions should have the desire to excel, both in teaching and research, in an interdisciplinary work environment. Applicants should have: (a) Doctorate in Engineering or the Physical or Life Sciences, (b) the ability to teach at the graduate level, (c) the ability to supervise graduate students, (d) a willingness to develop an active program of research with funding from academic and industrial entities,(e) proven ability to conduct scholarly research and teaching in managerial/organizational aspects of emerging science-and technology-related companies.
Applicants with prior experience in starting or helping to grow young technology-related new enterprises are of special interest.
