W3-Professorship (Chair) in Business Administration, Strategic and International Management

The Business School of the University of Mannheim invites applications for the W3-professorship (chair) in Business Administration, Strategic and International Management (Successor to Prof. Dr. Andreas Al-Laham).

JOB DESCRIPTION: Together with the chairs for Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Organization, and Public & Nonprofit Management, the future chair holder represents the area Management in research and teaching. Applicants are sought with a research interest focusing on strategic and international management, which must be demonstrated by corresponding publications in premier international journals.

The chair offers courses in the Bachelor and Master programs, participates in the doctoral program at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business, and takes part in the Business School's programs in Executive Education (MBA). It is expected from the chair holder to coordinate his/her course offerings with the chairs in the area Management. The area further values a commitment to high quality teaching (e.g., interactive teaching methods including case studies, simulations etc.) as well as the ability to conduct the offered course program in English. Interested candidates must provide evidence of these abilities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be 'habilitated' or have achieved equivalent academic qualification in accordance with Section 47 Landeshochschulgesetz (legislation governing higher education in the State of Baden-Wurttemberg). According to federal legislation, the contract of employment is limited upon initial appointment to professorship. Exceptions are possible, particularly for applicants from abroad or from business. In the case of continuation of employment further hiring procedures are not required.

The university values excellent education and guidance for its students and therefore requires lecturers' continuous presence at the University. In order to strengthen the University's regional integration, it is further expected that the appointee is willing to establish residency in the region.
