The School of Law at the Singapore Management University (SMU) has an opening for one Post-doctoral Research Fellow position, commencing on 1 April 2016.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires a PhD (obtained within the last three years) in law and/or economics from a reputable academic institution and the candidate must have doctoral training in economics, finance, statistics, econometrics and/or empirical work. He or she must have experience in generating and working with datasets. A strong command of the English language and an active demonstrable interest in research in capital markets and financial regulation in Asian economies is essential.
Doctoral candidates whose dissertation is all but complete are also encouraged to apply.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The appointment will be on a one-year term contract basis, with provisions for renewal for a further year subject to good performance and the needs of the School. Research support will be provided as well as a competitive salary commensurate with relevant qualifications, experience, track record and research potential. The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will be required to conduct research in respect of listed firms in Singapore and Hong Kong as part of the research project on Legal Transplantation of Corporate and Securities Laws in Singapore and Hong Kong.
