Chair in Climate Policy

The European University Institute seeks applicants for a Chair in Climate Policy, within the framework of its Global Governance Programme at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. The activities of the climate programme consist of the ex-post evaluation of climate policy as implemented in the European Union, and of the study of the unique governance issues raised by the climate change.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Chair holder will be responsible for the overall conception and direction of the Programme and she/he is free to dedicate her/his time entirely to the direction of the Programme and to the related basic and applied research activities, including the profiling of the scientific programme, the recruitment of a research team, dissemination activities, and also fundraising when necessary.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION: Candidates are invited to submit a proposal on how they see the programme’s organisation, development, and intellectual content during the term of the contract. Preference will be given to candidates with the potential to establish links and generate synergies with other research strands at the Global Governance Programme.

The initial contract will be for five years, renewable for a further three years conditional upon satisfactory performance appraisal and availability of funds. The Institute is an equal opportunity employer.
