of Dean of the University of Miami Law School.

a strong academic foundation with expertise in an array of
specialty areas, including five joint degree programs. It
has one of the largest and best-funded legal research
libraries in the country. University of Miami Law School is
training legal professionals who will be the architects of
a rapidly changing world.
JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:
The Dean provides leadership in all aspects of the
operation and evolution of the Law School. This includes:
academic affairs; administration and planning; student
recruitment, enrollment management, and financial aid;
financial management, and; institutional advancement. The
Dean is charged with: increasing the ranking of the school;
continuing to grow the Law School's curriculum that extends
well beyond the basics and which addresses the problems of
a changing society with an emphasis on the international,
economic, sociological, and psychological aspects of the
law; fundraising; and strengthening the linkage between
scholarship and classroom teaching excellence. Strong
candidates will be: superior managers and leaders who can
develop and implement a clear vision for the school; able
to develop a strong sense of community; respected by
faculty, trustees, alumni, and in the law education
community as a whole; effective fundraisers; strongly
committed to diversity among faculty, students, and staff;
able to foster scholarly productivity and teaching
excellence; excellent communicator, and highly effective at
attracting, retaining, and developing faculty, students,
and staff.
