Georgia State University College of Law
Georgia State University College of Law invites applications for two or more tenure track faculty positions beginning in the fall of 2013. We are especially interested in filling positions in corporate/business law, environmental and land use law, and in other areas.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have a JD degree, a distinguished academic background, and a proven record of (or demonstrated potential for) outstanding scholarship, teaching, and professional engagement. Rank is at the assistant or associate professor level and commensurate with experience, and both entry level and lateral candidates are welcome to apply.
The position in Environmental and Land Use Law is part of the University's Second Century Initiative ("2CI") that seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration around the environmental, planning, economic and urban policy issues related to shaping the future of cities. This initiative anticipates four faculty appointments, one in the GSU College of Law and one each in the GSU Departments of Economics, Public Management and Sociology. The ideal candidates for the College of Law position will have strong interdisciplinary research interests that would enable their engagement with these other departments. In addition, the successful candidate will have the benefit of working with the College of Law's Center for the Comparative Study for Metropolitan Growth, whose mission is to advance interdisciplinary dialogue, academic exchange and research related to the challenges of cities around the world.
