JOB DESCRIPTION: The chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Law, the Dean reports directly to the President of the University and serves as a senior member of the university leadership. Applicants for the next Dean should be accomplished leaders who are committed to building a vibrant, intellectual community dedicated to excellent scholarship, teaching, and research. Candidates should bring a strategic vision for enhancing the law school's national academic profile and a demonstrated ability for developing the financial resources for building the school's professional standing. The next Dean should be a skilled administrator, a successful fundraiser, and an uncompromising catalyst for the long-term growth and development of the institution.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have a J.D. degree, a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, and a demonstrated capacity for effective administration, successful fundraising, and intellectual leadership in a legal academic setting. Candidates should further be able to build and maintain relationships with a variety of constituencies, including donors, alumni, and members of various national and regional legal communities.
