tenure track positions at the assistant or associate

Qualified candidates must have a law degree (JD). We
particularly welcome applications from candidates having a
JD and an advanced degree in an area related to the
economics of risk. The advanced degree can be from most any

to publish in the premier journals in law and/or other
     relevant areas.

     ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT:

The Department of Risk Management and Insurance is one of
the oldest and most influential risk management programs in
the U.S. It has a distinguished history of serving
students, alumni, and the risk management profession. In
2004 the Department operationalized a strategic plan to
transform itself into a premier center for scholarship and
education in the evaluation and management of risk broadly
defined. We have assembled a group of junior and senior
faculty members trained in the most advanced methods of
economics, statistics, and mathematical finance for a
coordinated study of risk management problems at their most
fundamental levels. We are now especially interested in
hiring scholars with a strong interest in law and risk. The
specific research interest can be in any area of this
     intersection including reputation, liability risk,
bankruptcy, and contractual risk. The person selected for
this position will also play an important part in the
future development of the department by complementing our
existing faculty members from a research standpoint,
through active participation in the Ph.D. program, research
seminars, and helping to improve an already strong research
environment. The salary level, course load and additional
     research support are competitive.
