The University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications and
nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Law.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE OF LAW:
Established in 1891, the College of Law is a prestigious
regional institution with a growing national reputation.
Many of the thirty-one faculty at the College are
nationally known for their scholarship and law reform
activities. The College provides over four hundred students
with a rigorous and challenging education, and graduates of
the College compete well in national employment markets.
The College is generously supported by alumni and has a
substantial endowment.
The University of Nebraska is the only major research
university in the state. The College of Law is located on
the Lincoln campus the main campus of the University
serving about 24,000 students. Lincoln is an attractive
city of 250,000. The University and the state government
contribute to the vibrant culture and intellectual life of
the community.
The College of Law is housed in very attractive and modern
facilities. Since 2002, there have been three major
additions to the building and the remaining portions have
been completely renovated. The final renovation, for which
funding is in place, is scheduled to be completed in
December 2009. Two of the College's programs are of
national and international significance. The Law and
Psychology Program is the oldest and best-known program of
its type in the country. The newly established Space and
Telecommunications Program offers the College's first
LL.M. degree and has already received a great deal of
national and international recognition. Additional

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer
of the College of Law. Candidates should have an
outstanding academic record, a strong commitment to
excellence in professional education and research, the
ability to deal effectively with a broad range of
constituencies, and the skills necessary to lead a complex
and dynamic academic institution.
