The Law School Survey of Student Engagement (LSSSE)
director is a part-time academic specialist appointment at
Indiana University, with co-appointments in the School of
Education and the School of Law. The project is based at
Indiana University Bloomington's Center for Postsecondary
Research, but it is possible for the director to reside in
another location.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The director oversees the work of the project manager, who
handles the project's day to day operations. In addition,
the director will be responsible for representing LSSSE in
national venues and strengthening project relationships
with appropriate legal education organizations, including
AALS, LSAC, the ABA and others. Experience with such
organizations and a national reputation as a veteran legal
educator will be useful. The director will implement
LSSSE's strategic vision and establish an action plan that
includes short and long term goals for the project that
respond to national trends in assessment and legal
education. The director will also be responsible for
generating research initiatives using the LSSSE data and
obtaining external funding and other partnerships to
support these efforts. Familiarity with social science
research methods is preferred.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will hold a JD; a doctoral degree or
demonstrated experience in the social sciences is
desirable. Start date is negotiable between January and
July of 2010.
