Dean
The Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University invites
nominations and applications for the position of Dean,
Spears School of Business. The Dean reports to the Provost
& Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
ABOUT THE SPEARS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS:
The Spears School of Business is a dynamic academic
organization composed of 96 tenured or tenure-track
faculty. It provides an environment that encourages faculty
personal and professional development, student attainment
of academic and professional success, strong partnerships
with private- and public-sector organizations, and
enhancement of its excellent reputation. The Spears School
is composed of the School of Accounting and the Departments
of Economics and Legal Studies in Business,
Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, Management Science
and Information Systems, and Marketing, the Center for
Executive and Professional Development, and the Office of
Research and Financial Services. Through these units, the
Spears School offers an undergraduate degree with majors
available in 13 fields of study, the MBA, the MS in
Accounting, the MS in Economics, the MS in Management
Information Systems, the MS in Quantitative Financial
Economics, and the MS in Telecommunications Management.
Additionally, the Spears School is a major participant in
several interdisciplinary master's degree programs; e.g.,
Engineering and Technology Management, Health Care
Administration, and International Studies. It also offers
the PhD in Economics and the PhD in Business
Administration, with specialization in one of five
functional business areas. Current enrollment includes
approximately 3700 undergraduate students, 600 master's
students, and 80 doctoral students. All programs were fully
reaffirmed in 2009 by the AACSB International. In addition
to its strong undergraduate and graduate programs in
Stillwater and Tulsa, the Spears School offers master's
programs through distance learning technologies. Further

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should possess proven leadership and management
skills in higher education; a thorough knowledge of the
philosophy and mission of an AACSB-accredited college of
business administration; a knowledge of the philosophy and
mission of a land-grant university; a demonstrated capacity
to lead, communicate, and work effectively with faculty,
students, and leaders in business, industry, and other
educational agencies and institutions; and clear evidence
of ability to lead a major capital campaign and manage
external funding. Candidates should also be proponents of
outreach activities. An earned doctorate or appropriate
terminal degree in an area generally associated with
Business Administration, as well as scholarly achievement
in teaching, research, and service, are strongly preferred.
A minimum of three years of leadership experience at a
comprehensive research university is also strongly
preferred.
