                 Research Assistant in Commercial Law


      The University of Luxembourg has an opening in its Faculty
      of Law, Economics and Finance for a Research assistant in
      commercial law (post-doctoral) (M/F) Ref: F2-080023 (to be
      mentioned in all correspondence), 2-year contract, renewable
      once, 40h/week.


      ABOUT THE SCHOOL:

      The University of Luxembourg was founded in 2003. The
      Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance is located on the
      Limpertsberg Campus of the University of Luxembourg in
      Luxembourg City, capital of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
      Luxembourg lies at the heart of the European Union and is
      one of the world's leading financial centers. Luxembourg
      also hosts the head office of the European Court of Justice
      and is close to Brussels and other EU institutions. It is
      therefore an ideal setting to conduct comparative and
      European research.


      MISSION:

      - Contribute to the research work conducted by the Research
        unit of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance in the
        field of European banking and financial law and
        comparative law. The successful candidate will be
        expected to contribute to collective projects as well as
        submit individual work
      - Assist and mentor PhD candidates
      - Assist with teaching activities, one to three hours per
        week
      - Contribute to tutoring students


      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      - PhD in law, preferably with a specialization in
        commercial law or European law
      - Excellent knowledge of European law and be able to
        autonomously conduct research at a post-doctoral level
      - Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual
        environment: Fluency in at least two of the three working
        languages (French, German and English) is a prerequisite;
        understanding of the third will be considered an
        advantage. Given that most courses are taught in French
        the applicant must be able to teach in this language
      - Team-oriented


      OFFER:

      - Personal work space at the University (full-time contract
        will requires to work on the University's premises)

      - A detailed curriculum vitae with a complete bibliography
        of the applicant's published works
      - A description (+/- 6000 characters) of the scientific
        work the applicant is interested in pursuing
      - Name, current position and relation to the applicant of
        the three persons cited as reference
      - Copy of the publications that the applicant deems most
        relevant to his/her research work
