       Career Development Fellowship in Intellectual Property Law
               in association with St Catherine's College

                Salary up to British Pound 32,796 with a
               discretionary range to British Pound 35,837
             (University Grade 7, pay increase due May 2008)


      Oxford's Career Development Fellowship Scheme is designed
      to provide an intensive and supported career development
      opportunity for outstanding academics at an early stage of
      their career; and to promote equality of opportunity by
      helping to create a more diverse pool of potential
      candidates for future academic posts at Oxford or
      elsewhere. The University will especially welcome
      applications from women and ethnic minorities, who are
      under-represented among its academic staff (section 38 of
      the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and section 48 of the Race
      Relations Act 1976 apply).


      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      The Faculty wishes to make Oxford a leading centre for
      teaching and research in Intellectual Property. As part of
      this strategy, the Faculty seeks to develop an outstanding
      teacher and researcher in Intellectual Property Law, and
      has therefore established the Career Development Fellowship
      in Intellectual Property Law. In addition to being able to
      develop expertise in both research and teaching in a richly
      rewarding environment, the postholder will have an academic
      mentor and a personalised career and professional
      development package, which will include the opportunity to
      undertake the University's postgraduate diploma in learning
      and teaching. In addition to the salary, the postholder
      will receive a start-up grant of British Pound 4,000.


      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      The postholder will be expected to undertake research in
      the area of Intellectual Property Law; and to give
      tutorials and provide lectures/seminars in Intellectual
      Property Law for the Faculty and/or College for up to 6
      hours a week.

      The post is tenable for a fixed term of three years from 1
      July 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post
      would suit someone who has completed a Master's degree or
      doctorate, or who has a professional legal qualification
      and experience in a relevant area.

      The post is associated with St Catherine's College, where
      the postholder will be based.
