      The Faculty of Law, Department of Private Law at
      Maastricht University is looking for a University
      Lecturer Private Law, in particular the law of
      obligations (1,0 fte).


      JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:

      We are looking for a specialist in private law, in
      particular the law of obligations. You hold a PhD on
      private law, preferably in the area of contract or
      liability law or are about to complete your thesis in this
      area.

      The lecturer teaches on private law, including property
      law, especially the law of obligations in the broadest
      sense. She or he supervises theses and essays and
      contributes to the development of teaching material. The
      lecturer is able to teach in the English and Dutch
      language. The candidate has demonstrable affinity with
      comparative research and experience abroad is to be
      preferred.

      Approximately forty percent of your time shall be dedicated
      to research. The lecturer will participate in the research
      school Ius Commune, in particular in the project on
      liability and insurance or general law of obligations and
      contract law. As a lecturer, you will also make an effort
      in acquiring research grants and contract research.

      The appointment as university lecturer private law, in
      particular the law of obligations will be for an initial
      period of three years, with a possible renewal of three
      further years, with the prospect, after a positive
      evaluation, of tenure (appointment for an indefinite period
      of time).

      The salary is dependent on education and experience. The
      salary will be set in scale 10, 11, or 12 of the CAO
      Nederlandse Universiteiten, with a maximum of Euro 4.868,-.
